The leadership of the Lagos State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday condoled with the Adebutu family over the death of Mrs Dame Caroline Adebutu on Friday.
The party, in a statement by its Publicity Secretary, Mr Hakeem Amode, said that it received with shock and a deep sense of loss the news of the transition to glory of Dame Caroline Adebutu.
Amode said that the matriarch of the Adebutu Dynasty, Yeyeoba of Odogbolu and Yeyemode of Iperu and the mother of PDP’s gubernatorial candidate in Ogun, was a woman of great value and uncommon virtue.
“We are sure Chief (Mrs) Dame Caroline Oladunni Adebutu Kesington was a woman of excellent qualities and had lived an exemplary life worthy of emulation and so, in death we should celebrate her for the indelible marks she left behind.
“Her legacies as the matriarch of the Adebutu Kesington family and her charitable life will keep her alive in the minds of those who loved her and those she inspired particularly, her children, friends and relations.
“On behalf of the gubernatorial candidate of our party in Lagos State, Dr Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran – Jandor, the party executives and members of PDP in the state, please accept our heartfelt condolence,” he said.
Amode, who is also Chairman, Media and Publicity, JandorFunke 2023 Campaign, prayed that the Lord would grant the entire family the fortitude to bear her demise.
The late Adebutu was the wife of the pools merchant and business mogul, Chief Kesington Adebutu and mother of the Ogun PDP candidate, Mr Ladi Adebutu.
