The management of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) has joined other stakeholders in mourning the death of Prof. Festus Adegoju, Oyo State Chairman of the Nigeria Football Coaches’ Association (NFCA).

This is contained in a condolence message by 3SC Chairman, Mr Babatunde Olaniyan, on Monday in Ibadan.

Adegoju, a renowned coach, popularly known as Festo, died on Sunday evening in Ibadan.

Olaniyan described the demise of Adegoju as a rude shock and huge loss to the football fraternity.

‘“We received the news of the passing away of the Chairman, Nigeria Football Coaches’ Association, Oyo State Chapter, Prof. Festus Adegoju, with shock.

“It is disheartening that the cold hands of death snatched him away from us at a time when his contributions were still needed.

“However, while we deeply mourn his exit, we take solace in the fact that he lived a good life and that he has gone to rest with his maker,” he said.

Olaniyan expressed condolences to the coaches’ association and the football family, while praying that God would console and give his family the fortitude to bear the monumental loss.

“Our heartfelt condolences go to the coaches’ association and the football family as whole.

“We pray that God will console and give his immediate and extended family the fortitude to bear the monumental loss,” he said.
