President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed shock over the reported kidnap of five newborn babies in Anambra, directing security agencies to curb the rising crime rate in the areas without any delay.

The kidnappers reportedly carted away the babies from Stanley Hospital in Nkpologwu, Aguata Local Government Area of the state.

In a statement by his media aide, Malam Garba Shehu on Friday in Abuja, Buhari expressed his concern about the strange incident, stressing that efforts must be made to unravel the case immediately.

He also said that security at hospitals must be strengthened, “so that attacks of this nature do not happen again.”
