The Police Command in Adamawa has prosecuted 822, of the 909 suspects who were arrested for criminal activities between January and November, 2022.
The Commissioner of Police, Mr Sikiru Akande, disclosed this at a news conference on Wednesday in Yola.
He said the police also recovered 22 AK47 Rifles, 48 locally made guns, among other exhibits during the period.
Akande said that operatives of the command conducted tactical and intelligence-driven patrols, raids of criminal hideouts, rescue operations, stop-and-search operations, community policing, engagement of stakeholders, among others, from January till date.
He said that the operations yielded positive results, leading to the arrest of 909 suspects in connection with kidnapping, robbery, cattle rustling and other violent crimes.
The police boss said that the command conducted thorough investigations to facilitate diligent prosecution of the cases, adding that it also interfaced with Interagency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES) to mitigate threats to election processes in the state.
“The command engaged operational commanders of sister security agencies to improve intelligence sharing and operational tactics to checkmate thuggery.
“The command ensured domination of political campaign venues, places of worship and event centers identified, to ensure adequate security before and during elections,” he said.
