Gen. Lucky Irabor, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), on Tuesday inaugurated some new projects at the headquarters of the Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) in Jos.
Inaugurating the projects, the CDS expressed delight with the projects, saying that they would further boost the morale of troops of the operation.
“These projects will not only boost the morale of troops, but also strengthen their commitment to the fight against insecurity in the joint operation area,” he said.
Irabor said that his visit would motivate the troops across the theatre of operation toward improving their operational effectiveness and professional conduct.
He lauded the giant strides of the commander of OPSH for initiating the projects and promised to continually improve the welfare of troops.
Earlier, Maj.-Gen Ibrahim Ali, Commander of OPSH, thanked the CDS for the visit, adding that the projects would provide a working environment that was conducive for troops to carry out their responsibility effectively.
Ali, who doubles as the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 3 Division of the Nigerian Army, Rukuba, near Jos, commended Irabor for his leadership, guidance and support toward the actualisation of the projects.
The CDS was accompanied on the visit by Principal Staff Officers from the Defence Headquarters, among other senior military officers.
Some of the projects inaugurated include newly constructed entrance road into headquarters, remodelled car park, accommodation and kitchen, among others.
