The Kano State Government says it has concluded arrangements to inaugurate the newly constructed Muhammadu Buhari Cancer Treatment Centre in October 2022.

The Commissioner for Health, Dr Aminu Tsanyawa, made this known at a news conference on Sunday in Kano.

The event is part of the activities lined up to signal commencement of the maiden Kano State Health Week.

Tsanyawa said that the Centre, which had been completed and fully-equipped, would attract health tourists from countries across the African region and beyond.

He said the Kano State Health Week was designed to showcase the feats achieved by Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje’s administration in the health sector.

“The health sector, under this administration, went through a lot of transformation, as Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje gave priority to the sector,” he said.

The commissioner also explained that the health week would entail the provision of medical outreach services in addition to other activities.

He urged residents of the state to avail themselves the opportunity to access free healthcare services during the exercise, billed to hold between Sept. 19 and Sept.
