APC lauds FG over N11.6bn Kirfi-Gombe Abba road project

By Ahmed Kaigama, Bauchi.

The Bauchi State chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has commended the Federal Government over the approval of N11.6 billion for the Kirfi-Gombe Abba road project.

Mr Sabo Mohammed, Chairman of the state APC’s Publicity Sub-Committee, made commendation at a news conference on Saturday in Bauchi.

He said that the Federal Executive Council (FEC) at its meeting, chaired by President Muhamadu Buhari in Abuja, approved the road project on Aug. 24, 2022.

According to him, the poor state of the road has been a nightmare for motorists, and putting the lives of travellers in the area at risk.

“We appreciate Mr President and the FEC for approving N11.6 billion for Kirfi-Gombe Abba road project; the gesture will save lives and boost businesses.

“The party also lauded the President and Minister of Education for the establishment of educational institutions in the state,” he said.

He listed the institutions as the Federal University of Science and Nutrition, Azare; the Federal School Nursing and Midwifery, Azare; the Federal College of Education, Jammare; the Federal Government College, Misau and the Zonal Model School, Bauchi.

Besides, Mohammed commended Hajiya Sadiya Umar-Farouq, Minister for Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, for the execution of viable social and economic programmes in the state.

“We are commending the minister for humanitarian interventions and support to victims of natural disasters in the state and the country at large.

“We urge you not to be deterred by unnecessary criticisms and deviate from doing the good things for the citizens of the country,” he said.

While commiserating with victims of flood disaster in Bauchi State, Mohammed urged the state government and other stakeholders to support the Federal Government’s development programmes for the overall benefits of the people.
