The Pension Transitional Arrangement of Directorate (PTAD) says the Bank of Agriculture (BoA) has transferred 831 pensioners of the defunct Nigerian Agricultural Cooperative Bank (NACB) to it.
The Executive Secretary of PTAD, Dr Chioma Ejikeme, said this during the verification of BoA pensioners in Abuja on Wednesday.
Ejikeme said that the pensioners’ verification for the Northern zone was taking place simultaneously in Abuja and Kano.
She commended BoA for taking care of the pensioners and promised to continue from where it stopped.
“The verification will end in September,” she said.
The Head of Human Resources, BoA, Mrs Tsukunda Yakubu, said that the North had over 500 pensioners, with 433 pensioners being verified in Abuja and Kano, while the verification was ongoing.
She commended the Federal Government for always taking care of the senior citizens.
One of the pensioners, Mr Salihu Momoh, lauded Ejikeme for all her laudable efforts in PTAD.
“Women are compassionate leaders and mothers,” he noted.
