Matron, 5 students of Bethel Baptist school regain freedom, says Revd. Akanji

The President of Nigerian Baptist Convention, Revd.  Israel Akanji, on Friday announced the release of five additional students of Bethel Baptist High School, Kaduna State, and their matron by their abductors.

In a statement on Friday night by Akanji said: “Glory be to God. Five of our Bethel Baptist High School students and the Matron have just been released to us this evening, Oct. 8.

“We thank God and trust that the remaining four students will also be released; Thank you for your prayers and support.”

It would be recalled that bandits, on July 5, invaded the school in Kaduna and abducted an unspecified number of students.

However, on Jul 25, the kidnappers released 28 of the abducted students and another batch of 25 on Aug. 23.

On Sept. 23, CP Frank Uba, the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Nigeria Police Headquarters, announced that the police had arrested some suspected kidnappers of the school students.
