President Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with the family and friends of former presidential aspirant of the then All People’s Party, Harry Akande, who died on Dec. 5.
The president, in a statement by his spokesman, Mr Femi Adesina, in Abuja on Monday, joined others in mourning the late businessman and philanthropist, and praying that God will comfort his family at such a difficult time.
He noted that the late renowned business mogul had, over the years, registered his kindness in helping the deprived and underprivileged members of the society.
According to him, Akande’s role in the nation’s development remains remarkable and commendable.
He particularly commended Akande’s contributions to infrastructural development by ensuring the extension of basic services to the communities where he invested, continually expanding his interests in construction, electricity and healthcare.
The president prayed for the repose of his soul.
