C-G, Fire Service, wants firefighters’ commitment, dedication to duty

Mr Ibrahim Liman, the Controller-General, Federal Fire Service, has called on firefighters across the country to exhibit dedication in the performance of the duties.

Mrs Ugo Huan, spokesperson for Federal Fire Service, said in a statement that the controller-general made the appeal on Tuesday in Abuja during the decoration of some newly promoted officers.

The Federal Fire Service recently promoted 1,276 officers across the commands in the country.

Liman urged the officers to brace up to the challenges associated with the promotion, adding: “To whom much is given, much is expected.”

He pledged that the management of the Service would continue to provide the enabling environment for the officers to perform their duties.

“We will ensure this by providing all that is required to move the Service forward and curb fire outbreaks,” he said.
