The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) says it has created a WhatsApp platform to boost the coordination of disaster management within the state.
The Director-General of LASEMA, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, said in a statement in Lagos on Sunday that the platform would allow live locations, images and audio clips to be shared between the public and the agency.
He said that the launch of the platform was aimed at strengthening the agency’s capacity in coordinating disaster management within the state.
“The WhatsApp platform is manned 24/7 and can be reached on: +2347025004985.
“This line is in addition to the Toll Free 767/112 voice service and the local emergency officers located in all the local government areas and the local council development areas of the state.
“The service is an attempt to additionally cater for another demographic of Lagos, while providing the agency with better information for an improved and targeted response to emergencies,” he said.
Oke-Osanyintolu pledged that LASEMA would continue to improve its service delivery, in line with the Lagos State Government’s agenda to secure the safety of lives and property of citizens.
